Barca youngster had the game of his life against the Catalans, but Fati saved them from a spectacular defeat – Spain

Ansu Fati pulled Barcelona out of a spectacular slump by scoring the winning goal in a 4-3 success over third-division side Intercity in the Copa del Rey. All three goals for the team from Alicante were scored by Oriol Soldevila, who spent two of the youth formations at Camp Nou before ending up in Birmingham, and from there in Intercity. Ronald Araujo, Ousmane Dembele and Rafinha were accurate for the “Blaugranas” in addition to Fati.

The Catalans took the lead in the 4th minute when Ronald Araujo intercepted Pablo Torre’s cross and headed the ball into Gaiska Campos’ goal.

In the second half, however, the hosts had an answer to every challenge. First, in the 59th minute, they tied the score with a goal by Oriol Soldevila. Barca managed to take the lead again in the 67th minute when Ousmane Dembele was on target, but Soldevila never gave up. In the 74th minute, the “Blaugranas” teenager scored his second goal in the match.

Rafinha quickly restored Barca’s lead with a goal in the 77th minute, but Soldevila brought Intercity back into the game. Four minutes before the end of regular time, the 21-year-old Spaniard completed his hat-trick, sending the match into overtime.

In the first overtime, Barça had two great chances. In the first, the ball went inches wide after the intervention of the goalkeeper, and in the 99th minute, Jordi Alba hit the crossbar.

In the 104th minute, Rafinha cut back to Ansu Fati, the Spaniard’s shot ricocheting off an Intercity player and past Campos to put Barca ahead again on the scoresheet.
