Ashton Kutcher has revealed that an autoimmune disease has almost left him blind, hearing and able to walk.
In a new episode of “Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge,” previously obtained by TV’s Access Hollywood, the “Two and a Half Men” star shares that he developed a rare autoimmune disease called vasculitis , which can cause inflammation of the blood vessels.
“Two years ago I had this strange, extremely rare form of vasculitis that ruined my vision, I lost my hearing, I couldn’t keep my balance“, he said. “It took me about a year to recover. Then I came to the conclusion that one really doesn’t appreciate what one has until one is about to lose it… “
Mila Kunis’ husband also added that he is “lucky to be alive” and Grylls admired his strength. The actor explained how he took adversity as an opportunity to persevere and make the best of a bad situation.
“The moment you start looking at obstacles as things that are created for you to give you what you need, that’s when life starts to get fun, right?Kutcher explained.You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living under them.”
