Another Ajax talent offered to play for Manchester United – Football World – Others

One of Manchester United’s transfer targets, Brian Brobbie, has revealed his dream to one day play for the Red Devils, despite ruling out the possibility of it happening this summer.

The striker turned down the chance to play at Old Trafford to rejoin Ajax. However, the now 20-year-old has revealed that he does intend to play for the Red Devils one day. In an interview with the Dutch version of “ESPN”, he was asked which team he would like to play for in the future.

He responded with “Manchester United” and burst into wry laughter. Brobbie also revealed he received an offer from United manager Erik ten Hag in the summer.

“Eric (Ten Haag) sent me a message, yes. To greet me and tell me that he would like to have me there – in Manchester. But I’m not done with Ajax yet, I want to show my capabilities here first,” Broby stated.

He has already started well this season, scoring two goals and assisting two more in the team’s first five games. The striker is a product of the Ajax academy, but RB Leipzig snapped him up in 2021 before loaning him back to Ajax. They then completed the cycle by selling it back to Amsterdammers.

With the departure of a number of stars, including Ryan Gravenberch to Bayern Munich, Sebastian Alle to Borussia Dortmund, as well as Lisandro Martinez and Antony to United, there is an excellent opportunity to establish himself in the Ajax squad.
