Android 13 arrives on the Nothing Phone (1)
Two months after the arrival of Android 13 in beta on its first smartphone, Nothing announces the deployment of the final version of the operating system, accompanied by its in-house interface, on the Phone (1). It is already possible for smartphone owners to download the upgrade from their device settings. They will get Android 13 with NothingOS 1.5.
The new features are more or less those that were announced in December, except that they are no longer supposed to be accompanied by bugs. On the menu, therefore, aesthetic improvements, such as new ringtones associated with Glyph light animations, a new presentation for the media controller, and new customization options for wallpapers and application icons. Some applications benefit from new interfaces (quick settings, camera, game mode), and we note the arrival of a home weather application.
Nothing also promises a better optimization of its system, which should result in “A 50% increase in app loading speed”. It is now possible to close applications running in the background from the notification center in order to limit energy consumption. Finally, we note that the new features related to Android 13, such as support for multi-languages. All the new features related to this update are available on Nothing’s website.
Carl Pei’s brand has taken care of its communication since the launch of its first products, which involves a proactive update policy, with the promise of three years of OS updates. It does not take less to convince the reluctant to turn to its products, at a time when Nothing is beginning to evoke the release of a Phone (2) and aims to make a place for itself on the American market.
