A nun won “The Voice of Italy” and became a waitress with a pierced nose

A singing nun who won the talent show “The Voice of Italy” revealed that she left her religious order and became a waitress in Spain, DPA reported.

“It was a change for me myself,” Cristina Scucha explained on the Verissima talk show on Canale Cinque.

In the show, the 34-year-old Sicilian woman shared that she had moved to Spain, BTA added.

Instead of a cassock, she sat opposite host Silvia Tofanin in a pierced nose and a pink trouser suit.

Bored shot to fame in 2014 after winning the music TV format and went on to perform on stage with global stars such as Ricky Martin and Kylie Minogue.

Taking off the cassock after 15 years of religious life was difficult, the former Ursuline nun said.

Because of her success on the talent show in 2014, she shared that she felt a “tremendous responsibility” and a fear of disappointing her fans.

Christina Scucha said that the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from traveling. When her father became seriously ill, she sought help from a psychologist and asked to leave the order in which she served.

When asked by the presenter if there was romance in her life, Christina Scucha said: “I believe in love, but right now it’s not my priority.”
