A Bulgarian was among the potential talents for Formula 1

Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov has been named as one of the talents who could potentially end up in Formula 1. The 15-year-old native was named by the specialist publication F1 Feeder Series in a list of the youngsters with the greatest chance of one day driving among the best .

Of course, the analysts emphasize that the assessment is subjective and nothing is guaranteed, but the presence of a Bulgarian in such a company is definitely interesting.

Nikola is currently competing in the Spanish Formula 4, where in 12 starts he has collected a total of 236 points and is the leader in the general classification. Tsolov has 9 wins and a total of 10 podiums, as well as 10 pole positions in a total of 12 starts so far, as well as 11 fastest laps.

He leads by 118 points over the second in the standings.

“Tsolov already has to introduce himself to the big names in the sport. The Bulgarian youth is part of a program associated with the Alpin academy, and also has direct connections with two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. This gives him a chance to consult directly with him about the ride and his plans,” the publication wrote.

“He had a very strong final season in karting, talking about his driving. He finished fourth in the European championship and in Spanish F4 he just destroys his rivals on the grid. His only missed opportunities came because of two blocked from pole position, and in total he has 9 wins in 12 starts so far,” added the F1 Feeder Series.

The other names listed alongside Tsolov are Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Alex Dunne, Rafael Camara, Ugo Ugochukwu and Hugh Barter.
